Our Team
Erik Weenink has a broad range of international experience in Engineering, Program Management and Pricing. He started his career in research and development for BHP Minerals where he developed a patented nickel leaching process, worked at their Platinum mine in Zimbabwe and supported the process development of oil sand recovery in a joint venture with Shell Oil. He then transitioned into batteries where he was a process engineering manager for Duracell. After P&G's acquisition of Duracell, he joined their Program Management team as the Alkaline business lead. Building on his program management experience, he became a Director of Project Management at Harsco Metals, an international service company into the steel industry.
Dr. Weenink is currently Director of Pricing and Promotions at Giant Food, the market leading grocery retailer in the Baltimore-Washington area and part of the Dutch Ahold-Delhaize group.
Dr. Weenink received his Doctorate in Extractive Metallurgy from Columbia University in NYC and a M.Sc. from Delft University of Technology in the Netherlands. He has lived and worked on three continents. Dr. Weenink speaks Dutch, German, English, and French fluently.
